In New York City, the Bloomberg administration recognizes that renewable energy will play a significant role in our energy supply with solar having the greatest potential to generate electricity in the five boroughs. Tax credits and other incentives have been established to make installation of solar photovoltaic systems on buildings more economically attractive.

A plan for redeveloping St. Joseph’s Health System (SJHS) in Paterson, NJ, is starting to become a reality as the first signs of change begin to surface. A two-story lobby that connects its new critical care building (which will officially open in September) and the children’s hospital – the first phase of SJHS’s redevelopment – is complete. The hospital project is part of a major redevelopment of paterson for which architectural firm, Francis Cauffman designed the master plan.

Newmark Knight Frank is bringing a 25,000 s/f corner retail space in the newest AvalonBay development to market. The brokerage has been named exclusive leasing agent for the space at 282-298 Eleventh Avenue near the High Line Park in Chelsea.The property, currently under development by AvalonBay Communities, will offer up to 25,000 s/f of corner retail space at the base of a mixed-use development that will include more than 700 residential units. Newmark Knight Frank senior managing directors Ross Kaplan and Stu Morden are heading up the leasing team.
