At a NYCREW event last Thursday, a group of teenage girls rode a construction elevator to the 22nd floor of the International Gem Tower, the Extell project on West 47th Street with office condos tailored to the diamond industry, as well as space for general users. In a floor-through space with panoramic skyline views, Raizy Haas, senior vice president at Extell, walked the young women through the development process at the 34-story tower, taking time to explain terms like curtain wall and floor plates.
