Trevi Retail takes 27,000 s/f at Cammeyer

Manhattan-based Trevi Retail has purchased 27,000 s/f of retail space at the Cammeyer building at 650 6th Ave. in the Flatiron District for $40 million, city records show.

The 67-unit, seven-story, stone-and-brick loft building, converted from offices to condos in 2007, includes ground floor retail space that is currently leased to Men’s Warehouse and FedEx Office.

One of the largest U.S. REITs has won a patent infringement case brought against it by NorthMobileTech in the Western District of Wisconsin.
The District Court ruled that Simon Property Group’s “SIMON MALLS – more choices” iPhone and Android app does not infringe upon NMT’s patent for an invention known as “Marketing Method.”
NMT argued that Simon’s app – which interacts with computer servers to distribute marketing materials related to their shopping facilities to mobile devices – infringed upon the “Marketing Method” patent. The District Court denied that claim.

Kevin Jonas, eldest of the superstar Jonas Brothers, was spotted at One Museum Mile (OMM) at 1280 Fifth Avenue doing a photo shoot for Social Life magazine.
We hear that in addition to the photo shoot, an E! crew was there filming for Kevin and his wife’s new series, Married to Jonas, premiering in August. The team was unavailable for comment.

Construction spending in June rose to a 2-1/2 year high as double-digit percentage increases in private residential and nonresidential construction more than offset an ongoing downturn in public construction, according to an analysis of new federal data released by the Associated General Contractors of America.
Association officials said they expect the disparity between private and public construction is likely to persist and urged policy makers to put more funding into infrastructure projects.

HFZ Capital Group announced that it is moving ahead with  plans to develop and convert into luxury residential condominiums the recently acquired 10-story, 122,000 s/f office building at 11 Beach Street.
City records show the company paid $62 million for the Tribeca property that sits on an “L” shaped plot with 81 feet of frontage on Beach Street, 52 feet of frontage on Varick Street and 101 feet of frontage on St. John’s Lane .HFZ has begun pre-development planning for the conversion.

Meridian Capital Group negotiated $20 million in mortgage financing on behalf of Zahav Properties for 40 Gold, a recently constructed multifamily building at 40 Gold Street in New York.
The five-year permanent loan, provided by a local balance sheet lender, features a competitive fixed rate of 3.05%.
The property totals 14 stories and contains 56 apartments with 5,800 s/f of ground floor retail space.
The transaction was negotiated by Meridian Capital vice president Josh Rhine, who is based in the company’s New York City headquarters.
