Time Warner Cable has signed a deal for part of 1633 Broadway’s 39th floor, according to sources.
A person familiar with the lease said that Time Warner will use the space to relocate personnel from its headquarters at Time Warner Center and also an office location it is vacating in Stamford Connecticut. The new office will also serve to accommodate future growth the person said.
The source said that a media sales group was the internal office at Time Warner Cable that would occupy the new facility.
The deal was for roughly 37,000 square feet, a portion of 1633 Broadway’s 39th floor. Floors are about 50,000 square feet in size in the 2.2 million square foot building, which is owned by the Paramount Group.
Rents in the lease were in the high $50s per square foot according to the source. Among the building’s attractions for Time Warner Cable was the proximity it offered to Time Warner’s headquarters at the Time Warner Center, which is nine blocks north on Broadway at Columbus Circle.
CB Richard Ellis leasing executives Greg Kraut and David Hollander represented Time Warner in the deal. Neither could be reached for comment.
